Master of Oral Implantology
The Master’s Degree Program ‘Master of Oral Implantology’ (MOI) has been introduced at the J.W. Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. The program was created in order to offer advanced academic training in the field of oral implantology to dentists from both Germany and abroad. The goal is to impart comprehensive and highly-specialised theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
The MOI is a 2-year modular graduate degree program. As a part-time study program the students will be travelling to Frankfurt 4 times, each time for 7-11 days. The fifth time the students will be in Frankfurt for presenting their thesis. This course of study will allow the student to continue to operate their practice.
The field of oral implantology is based in part on extremely complex interdisciplinary treatment methodologies, which require a strong correlation and coordination of various areas of specialisation. For this reason the course aims to prioritise a highly rational and analytical method of thinking. This will enable the optimal examination and harmonisation of the individual patient diagnosis, the selected treatment method and its results.
After successful completion of the program, graduates will receive the academic title of “Master of Science (MSc.) in Oral Implantology”. The graduates will be able to independently plan and implement therapy concepts for the treatment of patients requiring dental implant prosthetics. In addition, graduates will also have the skills required to select, analyse and fully integrate into their own practice a full range of treatments and knowledge in this field of dental implantology.
